Registered Kinesiologist, Nikki Ottaway understands the challenges women face with the start of a new season. The Fall can be especially demanding for women at various stages of motherhood. Whether you’re adjusting to kids returning to school and a host of extra-curricular activities, or looking forward to welcoming a new member to your family, there is an endless list of to-do's and even more what-if's. Endeavoring to do well in this season is most enjoyable when we are moving and feeling well. Bridgewell Kinesiology’s Prenatal and Postpartum exercise programs aim to bring clarity to your fitness goals, honour the unique challenges you are facing, and provide you with support as you pursue good health.

Beginning September 2021

 The Prenatal/Postpartum Fitness program

The aim of this program is to provide guidance in exercising safely and effectively, through pregnancy or in postpartum, and to help establish a strategy for progressively meeting the demands of everyday life, and the fitness goals you want to strive for.

 We begin by…

Building a foundation of trust, clarifying goals and expectations in a 1.5 hour, one-on-one initial assessment.

Then, we improve on the foundation through a progressive exercise program that addresses the general considerations for exercising in pregnancy and in postpartum, and provides goal-specific training. Training sessions are in small groups of no more than 3 participants, and take place 2x/week for 6-weeks.

To help you meet the recommendations of the Canadian physical activity guidelines,* I also provide one individualized home-workout per week of the program.

Finally, to honour how far you've come, we have a final assessment - a post-program evaluation and collaborate on how you can continue pursuing your goals. In a way, we come full circle; we get excited for you to begin again, and again, and again...
