Introducing the 2023 High Performance Summer Program

 

High Performance Program Background and Overview

The NLPT High Performance (HP) Program began in 2008. Over the past 14 years, NLPT has utilized this program model to assist some of our regions top hockey players chase their dreams of playing junior, collegiate and professional hockey.

The objective of this program is very clear: do what is necessary to make sure our are 100% prepared to play at their highest level at the beginning of the season.

The HP Programming model is built around designing a program for each athlete that specifically addresses the areas that will optimize their short and long term performance. Through our comprehensive evaluation process, we will gather the necessary performance based information that will allow us to direct our programming and coaching approach in an athlete specific manner.

Although specific modifications will be made the overall approach to this program is to:

  • Build foundational skill, strength and capacity (Block 1: May)

  • Expand power production skill, expand force production abilities and general conditioning (Block 2: June)

  • Expand power production ability, improve repeated sprint ability and begin transition to sport specific training (Block 3: July)

  • Transition to sport specific (movement related and energy system consideration) training methods to prepare for season (Block 4: August)

Payment schedules:

Payment for each program block is required in full prior to the beginning of each training block. For those registering for entire program, program fees can be split into 4 equal installments: May 1, June 1, July 1 and August 1 payable via cheque or pre authorized credit card.
